New Technology Analysts Join Oak Ridge Investments
CHICAGO, June 3, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Oak Ridge Investments is pleased to announce that Robert B. Corman and Terry M. Quinn will be joining its investment team. Mr. Corman and Mr. Quinn will serve as co-heads of Technology sector research.
Coinciding with the addition of Mr. Corman and Mr. Quinn, Oak Ridge Investments will be opening a New York City-based office at which both Mr. Corman and Mr. Quinn will be located.
Oak Ridge also plans to launch a concentrated Large Cap strategy that will be led by Mr. Corman and Mr. Quinn.
Both gentlemen have extensive backgrounds in the investment industry. Over the past five years, Mr. Corman served as trustee, asset manager and consultant for a collection of private trusts. He has also helped launch four start-up technology companies. From 2003 to 2009, Mr. Corman was employed at Neuberger Berman where his roles included Chief Investment Officer, Board Member, Director of Research and Portfolio Manager. Prior to his tenure at Neuberger Berman, Mr. Corman was Sector Head of Technology, Media & Communication for the domestic equity group at Soros Fund Management.
Mr. Corman also served as a Partner at hedge fund RiverRock Partners managing investments focused on high-technology industries. Previously he was a Senior Research Analyst and Portfolio Manager at Jennison Associates. Mr. Corman gained additional investment experience working as a research analyst at firms GS Grumman and Northern Trust earlier in his career.
Mr. Corman earned an MBA from the University of Chicago and a BBA in Accounting and Computer Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is also a CFA and CPA charter holder.
Mr. Quinn's investment experience most recently found him as Partner and Portfolio Manager at Camelot Capital and Trebuchet Funds, a long-short equity hedge fund focusing on the technology sector. Mr. Quinn was sole manager of the Trebuchet Disruptive Technology Fund which focused on new technologies emerging within the broader technology industry. Previously, Mr. Quinn was Co-Portfolio Manager of Crestwood Capital Partners, a long-short equity hedge fund that independently operated within Furman Selz Asset Management and later ING Capital Management.
Prior to his roles as portfolio manager, Mr. Quinn served as Partner and Senior Analyst at Furman Selz providing sell-side institutional research while also managing firm capital investing in companies within his area of coverage in the Software and Computer Services industry. Mr. Quinn also gained industry experience at Kidder Peabody, Drexel Burnham and Dean Witter where he was ranked an All-Star Analyst following the Computer Software Services industry for ten consecutive years by Institutional Investor magazine. He graduated from Middlebury College with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Economics.
