New Website Launches Retirement Community Database for Consumers, Financial Planners

RALEIGH, N.C., Jan. 7, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- In an effort to help families more easily navigate the search process for continuing care retirement communities LifeSite Logics has launched an online database providing information on more than 860 communities across twenty-three states.

The LifeSite Logics vision began in 2011, when Brad Breeding, a Certified Financial Planner, began receiving questions about CCRCs. "Among the various retirement living choices there tends to be the most confusion about continuing care retirement communities because of the contracts, levels of care and other options," says Breeding. "Yet I realized there was no central source for comprehensive and unbiased information on specific communities. Prospective residents of CCRCs tend to be planners and they often like to do their own research before contacting a community directly but I found there was a lack of third-party resources providing quality information."

Consumers can search the LifeSite Logics database by location. Much of the information is free of charge, while a full report will cost users about $40.

The company also engages professionals such as financial advisors who seek to provide a value-added service for the families they serve. An annual subscription provides full access to the entire database, along with other useful tools and information resources such as a side-by-side comparison feature and a proprietary retirement living calculator, called DecisionGenie.

"Ultimately we seek to create a better-informed consumer while providing increased visibility for the CCRC industry," Breeding says. "It is our belief that well-managed communities who embrace transparency of information will benefit the most in the coming years. We offer a platform to do this and it requires very little time or effort on the part of the provider."

LifeSite Logics plans to add more CCRC profile reports in 2014 with a goal of eventually housing data on all of the approximately two-thousand providers. Breeding says that gaining the trust and support of the CCRC industry is vital to fulfilling that goal. "We want CCRCs to reach out to us. If their information is in the database and they haven't reviewed it, we want them to make sure it is up to date. We have an open line of communication."
