New Website Promises an Easy Way for Programmers to Exchange Code

LOS ANGELES, May 20, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- A Los Angeles-based company has decided to build a new website that will cater specifically to programmers called SourceSale.com, according to sources.  

Launching sometime this month, Source Sale will accommodate two types of users: those who are looking to get source code and those who are looking to distribute it at an arranged price.

Appropriately called the "Programmer's Marketplace," programmers will be able to buy source code they may need for a project without having to start from scratch, while coders can make money for well-written code.

The idea was originally conceived by entrepreneur Sean McCleese—a former computer science student from Occidental College in Los Angeles.

"As a programmer myself, I know first-hand about the difficulties of finding quality code," McCleese admitted. "So why not host a forum where programmers can easily trade everything from simple php scripts to javascript libraries and make money at the same time?"

McCleese agrees, however, that building a website is no easy task, especially when it involves building a loyal following.

"Source Sale may present a challenge as far as acquiring new members," said the company's Marketing Director, Brendan Baker. "It's a tight community—getting experienced programmers to buy into our concept might take some time."

As the site continues to garner new content, the Source Sale team is confident that this project will achieve a sizeable following. Although the site is still in its early stages, the company believes their idea could really take off with the right strategy.
