DENVER, July 6, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- PlainSmart, the first comprehensive weight-management clinic with Colorado roots, is pioneering the $61 billion weight-loss industry with its holistic approach – diagnosis, personal consulting by Registered Dietitians, a bison-powered diet, exercise and monitoring – and relationship-based philosophy. PlainSmart will open its inaugural Englewood location on July 6, with a growth plan to add more clinics in Colorado and then expand around the U.S.

PlainSmart selected Denver for its launch, since this market represents a modern blend of healthy, active lifestyle and progressive food culture – modeling PlainSmart's attitude, "Love the food. Live the life."

Conceived from the high plains, PlainSmart's namesake honors the origin for one of its core proteins, bison, the leanest protein available, and its "just plain smart" approach to sustainable weight-management. Its guiding principles and western heritage embrace the spirit of PlainSmart's parent company, Denver-based Golden Bison, an integrated family of bison businesses, and the combination of culinary expertise and health counseling.

"Weight loss is a personal journey, and we developed PlainSmart to keep clients on their own paths, helping them build relationships with our Registered Dietitians and, equally importantly, with food, fitness and a sustainable lifestyle," said Kevin Lamar, Chief Customer Officer for PlainSmart. "More than ever, our culture has shifted from mainstream solutions to personalization. And PlainSmart is the first weight-management to respond to this cultural shift."

PlainSmart's weight-management program includes a 21-day plan with personal consulting with a Registered Dietitian, and then planning a four-pronged approach: 1) diagnosis and counseling; 2) diet with option of pre-packaged meals or a menu for individual cooking; 3) exercise recommendations for lowering fat percentage; and 4) monitoring with weekly body composition analysis, technology tools and reinforcement. The nutrition program focuses on losing fat and gaining muscle, as opposed to just the number on the scale, through scientifically-based nutrition with a mix of lean protein, such as bison, chicken and seafood, as well as exercise, support and monitoring by a Registered Dietitian. The cost ranges from $250 to $499, depending on the ready-to-eat meal plan.

Opening on July 6, PlainSmart's clinic is located at 401 Hampden Place (Broadway and Hampden), in Englewood. For additional information and scheduling with a Registered Dietitian, visit, or contact 303-962-0015.
