New York Artist Captures Palm Beach with Award-Winning Art Book

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla., June 27, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Famed Palm Beach artist Sandra Thompson has received a finalist award from the Indie Book Awards in the category of Best Overall Design, for her latest book, PALM BEACH: A Retrospective...The Art of Sandra Thompson.

Now in its fifth year, the Next Generation Indie Book Awards is the largest not-for-profit book awards program honoring the top independently published books of the year. Referred to in the media as the "Sundance" of the publishing world, the Next Generation Indie Book Awards are judged by leaders in both the traditional and independent publishing industries to help identify the work of independent publishers. The award-winning book was published by StarGroup International of West Palm Beach.

Sandra Gieichmann Thompson began her art career at Cooper Union in Manhattan. She later became Art Buyer for REDBOOK MAGAZINE, and Editorial Artist for Florida-based Fort Lauderdale News and Sun Sentinel.
