Key findings from 2011 New York Forum are reaffirmed in President's speech

The New York Forum Institute applauds President Obama's new initiatives announced in his Special Address to a Joint Session on Congress on job growth. The President's address reaffirmed many of the key recommendations business leaders made to the administration at the June 2011 New York Forum.

Tax incentives for small businesses, major investments in infrastructure, encouraging entrepreneurship, and business friendly immigration policies were just a few of the main themes Obama addressed in his special address. These key recommendations were outlined in the New York Forum G20 declaration, released on June 23, 2011 to the leaders of the G20 countries.

"We were very pleased to see the President's speech include so many of the recommendations outlined in the 2011 New York Forum Declaration," said NYF Founder and Chairman Richard Attias.

Recognizing that job creation would be a defining theme of the global agenda, The New York Forum held a special session on Jobs, Jobs, Jobs at its 2011 meeting. Hosted by the President's Council on Jobs and Competitiveness, the members of the Council used the New York Forum as a platform to debate solutions to creating more jobs for Americans. These recommendations were folded into the NYF declaration, released after the forum's conclusion.
