New York Life Capital Partners Names Alan Weinfeld Head of Business Development

NEW YORK, Nov. 23, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- New York Life Capital Partners (NYLCAP), the private equity arm of New York Life Investments, today announced the appointment of Alan Weinfeld, CFA as Managing Director and Head of Business Development.  In this newly created position, Mr. Weinfeld will be responsible for managing and coordinating fund marketing and capital raising activities of the firm.

Prior to joining NYLCAP, Mr. Weinfeld served as Director of Business Development for Darby Private Equity, the emerging markets private equity arm of Franklin Templeton Investments. There he led various fundraising initiatives in North America, Europe, the Middle East and shared responsibility for managing Darby's global Business Development platform.  Prior to his position with Darby, Mr. Weinfeld was Director of Investor Relations for Franklin Resources, Inc. (NYSE: BEN), where he was responsible for communicating the company's strategic and operational developments with the investment community.

Mr. Weinfeld received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Tulane University and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).  He is a member of the Security Analysts of San Francisco (SASF), the Washington Society of Investment Analysis (WSIA) and the Association for Investment Management and Research (AIMR).
