Updates to the connector provide online merchants with unique capabilities that are not available through the Magento platform alone. Online merchants can now offer their customers multi-payment plans as well as recurring order, or auto-ship programs, that adhere to best practices and significantly increase total revenue and customer lifetime values. In addition, the connector allows merchants to offer online customer self-service functionality that reduces operational cost and improves shoppers' satisfaction.
First released last July, the connector links a Magento merchant's administration panel to OrderMotion's order and inventory technology such that Magento merchants can access their customer order status and order history across multiple channels. Once the extension is installed, Magento automatically becomes "aware" of the order, item(s) and inventory information from OrderMotion's back-end processing environment. This additional information lets merchants create more effective marketing strategies because they gain better insight into their customers' buying behavior. In order to take advantage of all features of the connector, merchants must use Magento Enterprise and have an existing subscription to OMX, OrderMotion's order processing platform.
