NexJ Systems Recognized by Computerworld as a 2011 Honors Laureate
NexJ's Mobile Health for Chronic Disease Project at the Black Creek Community Health Centre acknowledged for promoting and advancing public welfare
TORONTO, May 30, 2011 /PRNewswire/ - NexJ Systems Inc., (TSX: NXJ), a leading provider of enterprise private cloud software, delivering customer relationship management (CRM) solutions for the financial services, insurance and healthcare industries, today announced it has been recognized by IDG's Computerworld Honors Program as a 2011 Laureate. The annual award program honors visionary applications of information technology promoting positive social, economic and educational change.
NexJ won the honor as a result of the Mobile Health for Chronic Disease Project (MHCDP) at the Black Creek Community Health Centre. The MHCDP features the NexJ Health Coach, a solution that allows people, coaches and physicians to collaborate on programs that encourage health-conscious behaviors and wellness. By integrating BlackBerry® smartphones with NexJ Health Coach, participants are able to monitor their blood sugar and blood pressure remotely. This allows diabetics to easily team up with personal health coaches and receive guidance in monitoring healthy eating, exercise and stress management. The system also links primary care providers with Health Coaches and patients to facilitate interaction that positively supports wellness.
"Recognition from Computerworld as a 2011 Laureate serves as further evidence that the technology we are developing, empowering patients to manage their wellness, can transform the healthcare industry," says William M. Tatham, Chief Executive Officer of NexJ Systems. "This project is solving a multitude of problems simultaneously - helping the patient, clinic and population in accessing better preventive and clinical care while increasing the individual's responsibility for optimizing their health and preventing disease."
The Computerworld Honors awards will be presented at the Annual Laureates Medal Ceremony & Gala Awards on June 20, 2011 at the Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium in Washington, D.C.
