Nexus Charity Golf Tournament Raises $7,500 for Orangewood Children's Foundation

VALENCIA, Calif., June 23, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Nexus announced today that its first annual Southern California Charity Golf Tournament has raised $7,500 to benefit Orangewood Children's Foundation. Held on June 15, 2011, the full-day golf event included a round at the Oak Creek Golf Club in Irvine, a technology fair, and a silent auction. Nearly 50 customers and partners joined Nexus for fun, networking and fundraising.

Orangewood Children's Foundation was founded in 1981 to raise money to build a replacement emergency shelter for Orange County's abused and neglected children. Orangewood Children's Home was completed in 1985, at which time it was deeded to the county of Orange, and it continues to serve as a refuge for children. Since then, the foundation has turned its attention to serving the ongoing needs of those children with programs designed to break the generational cycle of abuse. Programs include scholarships, life skills workshops, case management, special events, and resources such as food and clothing.
