NIH Director Francis Collins, MD, PhD to Keynote Eighth International Conference of the Society for Integrative Oncology; Case Western Reserve School of Medicine Sponsors the Conference

International Experts in Integrative Medicine Convene in Cleveland to Discuss "Innovating Integrative Oncology: New Science, New Solutions"

NEW YORK, Oct. 3, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Society for Integrative Oncology (SIO) announced today that National Institutes of Health Director Francis Collins, MD, PhD, will deliver the keynote address at its eighth international conference, which is co-sponsored by Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine.

As the former head of the Human Genome Project, Dr. Collins has advanced a science that is at the center of many developments in cancer treatment. Dr. Collins will address the group on "Seeking Out the Most Effective Interventions for Cancer Prevention and Treatment."

Integrative oncology facilitates cancer treatment and recovery through using complementary therapeutic options strategically combined with conventional medical care.
