Nihao America is an compilation of the five popular Nihao Media city magazines including Nihao New York, Nihao Los Angeles, Nihao Las Vegas, Nihao Hawaii and Nihao San Francisco. Hong Kong-based Nihao Media launched their first title, Nihao Hawaii in 2011 to meet the content needs of wealthy Chinese travelers.
"We are thrilled to share Nihao America with our Chinese readers," said Catherine Lin, President of Nihao Media. "So many of our readers are visiting three to five cities during their travels to America, so it made sense for us to give them all the luxury lifestyle information for the most popular American cities in one magazine."
Nihao America's editorial coverage of the Fall Winter issue includes extensive fashion coverage, an elegant watch and jewelry guide, and an in-depth beauty section for Chinese readers.
Nihao America features cover model Serena elegantly styled in Alexander McQueen and shot by Sinisa Nisevic. The semi-annual publication has a rate base of 300,000 and is distributed to Chinese millionaires who are visiting the United States. The magazine is delivered via mail or electronically to Chinese readers before readers depart for America.
"We are also very focused on our male readers, which make up nearly half of our audience," explained Lin. "Our luxury car and private aviation sections are very popular with our male readers. Private aviation is just taking a foot-hold in China, and Nihao America is going to be a great resource for this industry as they learn to connect with business people in China."
Chinese travelers are spending more on shopping on luxury goods than any other ethnic or socio-economic group. According to Nihao Media research, Chinese visitors to the United States spend nearly $2,500 on shopping per day, per person. The number of Chinese visitors to the United States was approximately 1,250,000 in 2011, and is projected to grow to over 5 million by 2015. According to Nihao Media research, nearly 70% of the non-student Chinese visitors to America are millionaires.
Nihao America is the only Chinese luxury lifestyle fashion magazine with an audited circulation platform. "It was important for us to make sure our advertisers had transparency when it comes to our audience, we are honored to be working with BPA China on our first audit," said Lin from the company offices in Hong Kong.
Nihao Media is the publisher of several Chinese-language lifestyle magazines, websites and shopping maps for wealthy Chinese tourists. Chinese language sites include www.nihao-media.cn, www.nihao-america.cn, and www.nihao-media.com. Nihao America is a semi-annual publication (2x per year) that is delivered to members of the Millionaire's File, a proprietary database of 1,250,000 Chinese millionaires who can request the magazine prior to departing for a trip to America. The magazine is also distributed to wealthy Chinese clients with their travel visa and airline tickets.
