Nissan Announces U.S. Pricing for 2012 Pathfinder, Xterra and Frontier

FRANKLIN, Tenn., Sept. 8, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Nissan North America, Inc. (NNA) today announced U.S. pricing for the 2012 Nissan Pathfinder SUV, Xterra SUV and Frontier mid-size pickup.  All three vehicles are on sale now at Nissan dealers nationwide.

Enhancements for the new model year include new exterior colors, refinements to various equipment packages, and a new, high-value Frontier Sport Appearance Package.  Details on specific model changes and 2012 pricing information follow.

2012 Nissan Pathfinder Pricing

The 2012 Pathfinder is offered in five well-equipped models, Pathfinder S, SV, Silver Edition, LE and LE V8.  Each is available in a choice of 2-wheel or 4-wheel drive except Pathfinder LE V8, which is offered in 4-wheel drive only.  All 2012 Pathfinder models (except LE V8) feature a standard 266-horsepower 4.0-liter V6 engine and 5-speed automatic transmission.  The Pathfinder LE V8 features a 310-horsepower 5.6-liter V8 and 5-speed automatic.

For 2012, the Power Moonroof and DVD player are now available as options on the Silver Edition and the Nissan Navigation System is now standard on the Pathfinder LE V6.  One new exterior color, Brilliant Silver, is offered.

2012 Nissan Xterra Pricing

Xterra is offered in three models, X, S and PRO-4X.  Each is equipped with a standard 261-horsepower 4.0-liter V6 and choice of 5-speed automatic or 6-speed manual transmissions (X model not available with 5MT).  The Xterra PRO-4X is offered in 4X4 only, while Xterra X and S models are available in 4x2 and 4x4 configurations.

For 2012, enhancements include one new exterior color, Metallic Blue, and the return of Lava Red and Metallic Green.

2012 Nissan Frontier Pricing

The 2012 Nissan Frontier is offered in King Cab and Crew Cab 4x2 and 4x4 configurations and in S, SV, PRO-4X and SL models (SL available on Crew Cab only, PRO-4X models in 4x4 only).  Frontier King Cab is offered with two engines – a 152-horsepower inline 4-cylinder or 261-horsepower 4.0-liter V6.  Frontier Crew Cab models come with the 4.0-liter V6 as standard.

The new Sport Appearance Package, which is competitively priced at $1,190 M.S.R.P., includes 18-inch aluminum-alloy wheels and front grille with Dark Hyper Silver finish, body-color front and rear bumpers, body-side sport graphics and more.  Active Brake Limited Slip (ABLS) and Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) are now standard on all Frontier models.  In addition, three new exterior colors are offered for 2012: Brilliant Silver, Metallic Blue and Lava Red.

About the 2012 Nissan Pathfinder

More than 25 years after its original introduction, the Nissan Pathfinder remains an authentic, rugged yet civilized SUV ready for everyday use and family adventures.  Pathfinder's first-class style, which includes a high level of available premium features, combines with a durable, truck-based platform and a choice of two powerful engines to reward owners with both functionality and rugged durability.

Pathfinder's 5.6-liter DOHC V8 engine is rated at 310 horsepower and 388 lb-ft of torque, which helps it to achieve 7,000 lbs of maximum towing capacity (when properly equipped).  The proven 4.0-liter V6 offers 266 horsepower and 288 lb-ft of torque.  All 2012 Pathfinders are built on a high-strength, fully boxed, all-steel frame based on the full-size Nissan Armada SUV design.
