COLUMBUS, Ohio, Jan. 13, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Ohio Nurses Foundation, the charitable arm of the Ohio Nurses Association, is accepting nominations for Nurses Choice Awards until February 22, 2014 in the following categories: individual, organization and media campaign.
The criteria for the categories are as follows:
- Individual – Someone who is not a nurse or a legislator who had made a contribution to nursing.
- Organization – An organization that shows they value nurses.
- Media – A media campaign that portrays nursing in a positive light.
A nomination must include a narrative of not more than 100 words describing how the nominee meets the criteria, three letters of support and in the case of the media award – a copy or sample of the campaign or media coverage. Submissions are to be sent to Gingy Harshey-Meade, Ohio Nurses Foundation, 4000 East Main Street, Columbus, Ohio 43213 by February 22, 2014.
"These awards were created to honor those who support nurses. It's important that we celebrate our friends who are right beside us, advocating for our profession and promoting it in a positive light. Those people are extremely important to us and it's only right they be recognized for their contributions," states Gingy Harshey-Meade, MSN, RN, CAE, NEA-BC, President of the Ohio Nurses Foundation.
The awards will be presented at the annual Nurses Choice Awards and Scholarship Luncheon on March 28, 2014 at The Blackwell Hotel and Conference Center in Columbus, Ohio. The event will start with networking and the Nurses Choice Raffle at 10:30am, with official programming beginning at 11:30am.
