Summa Health will pay $495,000 over the length of the agreement, which runs through 2024. According to Superintendent Dr. Joe Clark payments will be $55,000 a year for that timeframe. In return for its investment in the Nordonia Schools, Summa Health will receive naming rights for all of the baseball fields, basketball arena, performing arts center, and the entrances into and inside the football stadium.
"It's a privilege to partner with Nordonia Hills School District," said Ellen Smith, Summa Health Vice President of Business Development. "We are committed to building healthier communities and to us that starts at the school level."
"Our district is very appreciative of the relationship we have formed with Summa Health," said Nordonia Hills Superintendent Dr. Joe Clark. "We are excited to have them as the sponsor of our athletic complex and performing arts center. The revenues received from this naming rights sponsorship will allow us to do so many great things for the students of Nordonia.
"This new partnership is evidence of Summa Health's valued commitment to the district and the community," said Clark.
Besides the naming rights, the district and Summa Health will explore other ways to partner that will increase the quality of healthcare to the district. "Summa Health is going beyond traditional sponsorships, we're investing in the communities," Smith added.
"Brands are discovering that working together with schools on mutually beneficial partnerships has an exponential effect not only on the school, but also gives the company deeper roots into the community that they're serving," said Larry Jaeger, President for Hunter Sports Marketing, a company that specializes in naming rights valuation and who helped facilitate this agreement. "Naming Rights sponsorships have become an invaluable component of a company's marketing strategy"
