TULSA, Okla., Jan. 10, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Four executives from the world's big electric utilities will head west later this month to share how they keep customers happy and educated. The Customer Outreach panel will begin the second annual Electric Light & Power Executive Conference, Jan. 30-31 at the Omni San Diego Hotel.

"Our Customer Outreach panelists will share their customers' reactions to smart meters, the smart grid and energy efficiency programs, as well as company strategies to educate the public," said Teresa Hansen, Electric Light & Power editor in chief. "These utilities are based in Belgium, Chicago, Massachusetts and Maryland, so you know they'll bring stories about overcoming icy winter power outages, too."

Pierre Bernard is secretary general and director of business development at Belgium's transmission system operator, Elia Group. Elia's grid forms a key connection between France, Europe's largest electricity exporter, and the markets of northern Europe.

Penni McLean-Conner is vice president of customer care and energy efficiency at NSTAR, the largest Massachusetts-based, investor-owned electric and gas utility, with revenues of $3 billion and assets totaling $8 billion.

Charles Dickerson is vice president of customer care at Pepco Holdings Inc., one of the largest energy delivery companies in the Mid-Atlantic region, serving about 1.9 million customers in Delaware, the District of Columbia, Maryland and New Jersey.

Val Jensen is vice president of marketing and environmental programs at Commonwealth Edison Co., commonly called ComEd, an energy delivery subsidiary of Exelon Corp. and one of the largest U.S. utilities. The company provides service to 3.8 million customers across northern Illinois.

Richard Huntley, vice president and practice leader of energy efficiency and demand response at Vertex Business Service, will moderate.

The Electric Light & Power Executive Conference provides executives access to exceptional and otherwise inaccessible speakers, as well as first-class, enjoyable networking opportunities. Attendees also are encouraged to rub elbows with the keynote speakers, FOX News business and financial journalist Stuart Varney and F-16 pilot and founder of the Folds of Honor Foundation and Patriot Golf Day Maj. Dan Rooney.
