Northwest Cellars Expands Its Kirkland, Washington Tasting Room

KIRKLAND, Wash., April 9, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Northwest Cellars Winery, located in Kirkland, Washington has leased the space next door and removed a wall to expand its primary tasting room & event facilities. The construction has added about 800 sq ft to the tasting room and event area. The expansion will accommodate the growing list of special event booking requests by area party, meeting & event planners. 

The Grand Opening is on April 14, from 12-6pm and April 15, from 12-5pm at Northwest Cellars' Tasting Room located at 11909 124th Avenue NE, in the new Kirkland Warehouse District. There will be live music both days from 2-5pm, food from Green Apple Catering, and a photography exhibit by Duval Images.

The festivities are scheduled to coincide with the opening of 2 other winery tasting rooms nearby: Skylite Cellars and Waving Tree Winery.  Both are at 11901 124th Avenue NE in Kirkland.   

"We are somewhat unique in the wine business with the custom-label option for our wines," says award-winning proprietor/winemaker Bob Delf. "We grew over 25% last year and we are finding that we just don't have enough space; especially for events. Our expanded space will be able to handle small or large events, up to 75-100 people, depending on the configuration. With Green Apple Catering right next door, we can offer everything from happy hour type events to sit down dinners; in addition to our enhanced meeting space. And of course Vino, our winery dog, can now invite more of his friends over for play dates." 

The winery also does a lot of fundraisers for area charities, especially to benefit animals. Northwest Cellars has raised money for Homeward Pet, Seattle Humane Society, Meow Cat Rescue, Purrfect Pals, Pasado's Safe Haven, Old Dog Haven, Summit Assistance, and many more.
