Walter G. Kortschak, a Forbes Midas List Top 100 venture capitalist, joins the Anametrix Board of Directors as a private investor and Michael Christian, a prominent San Diego corporate lawyer, is named General Counsel and VP of Corporate Development to support organizational growth.
Walter G. Kortschak is a Silicon Valley venture capitalist who now invests privately in early and growth stage technology-enabled companies with innovative business models to penetrate large markets and reorder the competitive landscape. He is a senior advisor and former managing partner of Summit Partners, a private equity and venture capital firm that invests in profitable, growth companies. Prior to Summit, Mr. Kortschak was a Vice President at Crosspoint Venture Partners. He is also a past director of the National Venture Capital Association.
Over a venture capital career spanning 25 years, Mr. Kortschak has served as a director of over 40 companies, including 20 public companies. He led the initial investment in McAfee, Inc., an anti-virus and network security firm, and he has also invested in several other industry defining firms including E-TEK Dynamics, HMT Technology, Diamond Multimedia Systems, Finisar, and Xylan. Notably, Mr. Kortschak lead Summit's $30 Million equity investment in WebSideStory, also founded by Anametrix' Blaise Barrelet.
