Nova LifeStyle Announces over 200% Increase in Online Sales through Alibaba's B2C Site TMall and JD.com in China
LOS ANGELES, Sept. 15, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Nova LifeStyle, Inc. (NASDAQ-GM: NVFY), a U.S.-based fast growing, innovative designer, manufacturer and distributor of modern LifeStyle furniture, today announced a more than 200% increase in online sales for the months of July and August. This upward sales trend, as compared with the first and second quarters of this year, was achieved partly through the sale of its furniture brand Wo Zhi Bao, sold exclusively in China via the online sales venues of TMall and JD.com.

Tmall.com is an online, Chinese language, business-to-consumer (B2C) retailer operated by the Alibaba Group. It specializes in selling brand name goods to consumers in mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan. The site features more than 70,000 brands from more than 50,000 merchants and serves more than 180 million buyers. According to Alexa, the web traffic data research subsidiary of Amazon.com, Tmall.com was the 18th most visited website globally and the 7th most visited site in China, as of July 2014.
JD.com is a Chinese based publicly traded, $35.18B market cap company that boasts being China's largest online direct sales company in terms of transaction volume, with a market share in China of 54.3% as of the end of the second quarter of 2014, according to iResearch, a third-party market research firm. As of June 30, 2014, their self-operated delivery network covered 1,780 counties and districts, and their 211 program and next-day delivery program covered 111 and 622 counties and districts respectively across China.
