The decision to implement Kronos resulted from a business innovation fund sponsored by the Government of Nova Scotia, which supports initiatives that make public sector organizations more efficient.

• Responsible for healthcare delivery to Nova Scotia residents through a broad spectrum of services including hospitals, community health services, mental health services, and public health programs, the three district health authorities saw an opportunity to reduce overtime and increase efficiency with Kronos.
• The health authorities implemented the Kronos time and attendance, employee scheduling, and self service applications to reduce administrative time associated with scheduling; more effectively manage union contract compliance; and identify key staffing trends.
