Novant Health Names Bert Scott Senior Vice President Of Population Health

CHARLOTTE, N.C., Dec. 23, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Novant Health has named Bert Scott senior vice president of population health. He joins the organization from Affinity Health Plan where he served as the president and CEO.

Prior to his role at Affinity Health Plan, Scott served as president - U.S. commercial markets for CIGNA, serving more than 11 million customers with P&L responsibilities of over 15 billion in revenue. Prior to CIGNA, he was executive vice president and chief development officer at TIAA-CREF. During his 10 years with TIAA-CREF, he also served as executive vice president, strategy, integration and planning where he was responsible for leading the development and implementation of company strategy and all merger and acquisition activities.

In his new role at Novant Health, Scott will partner with David Cook, MD, senior vice president of population health – clinical, and Amy Vance, senior vice president of population health – business operations. Together, they will work with the population health team to integrate population health across the Novant Health system, both culturally and operationally, so it creates value for patients, families and consumers. By creating alignment across the system, Novant Health will be even more equipped to deliver a remarkable patient experience. Scott will report to Jesse Cureton, executive vice president and chief consumer officer.
