NSPS Makes Community Engagement a Priority at Oak Ridge

OAK RIDGE, Tenn., April 24, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- National Strategic Protective Services, LLC (NSPS), a joint venture of Triple Canopy, Inc. and Securiguard, Inc., has made great strides in integrating with the local community during its first year as the protective force services contractor at the Department of Energy's (DOE) Oak Ridge, Tenn. facilities.

According to NSPS General Manager Michael Voce, "The NSPS family is an integral part of this community. I feel it is our responsibility to make a difference, add value and give back to the community. We look to improve people's lives by volunteering our time and contributing funds in support of local charities and business organizations," said Voce.

Members of the NSPS leadership team have played an active role in supporting local non-profit organizations. NSPS is a member of the Oak Ridge Chamber of Commerce, the East Tennessee Economic Council and the East Tennessee Labor Management Association.

John Garrity, director of planning and operations at NSPS, serves as a member of the Board of Directors for the Oak Ridge Chamber of Commerce. He is a graduate of Leadership Oak Ridge, Class of 2014, where he and his classmates completed upgrades to Girls, Inc. as part of their leadership service project.  Additionally, he was instrumental in fostering a support arrangement between NSPS and the Oak Ridge Chamber of Commerce which resulted in NSPS becoming a sponsor of the Leadership Oak Ridge program. Two NSPS employees are participating in the current leadership program.

Garrity and Kyle Anne Lang, director of business operations at NSPS, support the United Way of Anderson County as members of the funds distribution panel. Garrity was also recently appointed to be a member of the board of directors and will serve a 3-year term in this capacity.

Over the past year, NSPS has made financial contributions to multiple local organizations including  Emory Valley Center CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates), Boys and Girls Club of Clinch Valley, Oak Ridge Children's Museum, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Methodist Medical Center, Big Brothers Big Sisters of East Tennessee and Girls, Inc.

A first year sponsor of the Secret City Festival in 2013, NSPS increased its support this year by signing on at the Event Sponsor level. The company will sponsor the "Salute to Soldiers", which includes interactive displays and demonstrations honoring the history of WWII soldiers.

NSPS is an active supporter of the Oak Ridge Sportsmen's Association's "Pull for Our Veterans" annual fundraising effort in support of the Wounded Warrior Foundation. The company sponsored a team of competitors in 2013 and will continue to provide financial and volunteer contributions in 2014.
