NTest Selected by Telesur for Remote Fiber Test in Suriname

MINNEAPOLIS, Sept. 24, 2013 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- NTest Inc. announced today that Telesur, the leading telecommunciations service provider in Suriname, has purchased FiberWatch™, NTest's Remote Fiber Test System (RFTS), to monitor the quality of service of its fiber network infrastructure.

FiberWatch™ was selected by Telesur because it enables continuous automated fiber testing, which improves quality of service for broadband services.  Network disruptions are an unpleasant occurrence caused by fiber cuts due to construction, accidents, vandalism and natural disasters.  RFTS helps reduce time and costs associated with reactive maintenance and delivers automatic notification with all the information needed to completely isolate the exact fault location allowing Telesur to substantially reduce the time to repair a fiber cut, a metric known in the industry as Mean Time to Repair (MTTR).
