NxStage Patients Participate in 257-Mile Tour DaVita Bike Ride

LAWRENCE, Mass., Sept. 10, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- NxStage Medical, Inc. (NASDAQ: NXTM), a leading manufacturer of innovative dialysis products, is proud to support four kidney failure patients performing home hemodialysis (HHD) treatment with the NxStage® System One™ as they ride in the eighth annual Tour DaVita®. Beginning on September 14 in Oregon, each patient will bike up to 257 miles over the course of three days, raising awareness for kidney disease and dialysis treatment options, including HHD. Thanks to the portability and flexibility of treatment schedules with the NxStage System One, all four patients will dialyze in a recreational vehicle along the route with the support of a care partner.

Jefferson's trailblazing efforts as an active member of previous Tour DaVita rides have paved the way for at least four other NxStage System One patients, including Thomas Holmes (third tour), Jan Morrow (second tour), Jacqueline Harris, and Lisa Rodriguez-Linner, to participate in the 2014 ride.
