Nyack College School of Music Concert at David Geffen Hall, Lincoln Center
The more than 80-year-old division of the College presents an evening of exquisite musicianship
NEW YORK, April 2, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- The Nyack College School of Music will present "Yesterday, Today, Forever," a concert of classical, contemporary, gospel and sacred music, on the stage of David Geffen Hall, Lincoln Center. Students, faculty, staff and alumni will headline the one-night event at the iconic cultural arts venue located at Columbus Avenue and 65th Street in New York City on Friday, April 12 at 7:30 p.m.
School of Music performances are a Nyack tradition that span several generations of talented singers and instrumentalists. These men and women have gone on to become composers, conductors, educators and recording artists and have appeared on national radio and television programs. In addition to their regional travels in North America, Nyack students have performed in Italy, Paris, Poland, China, Korea, Hong Kong, Germany, Moscow and Puerto Rico. The more than 100-voice Chorale has also been featured at Alice Tully Hall, Carnegie Hall and David Geffen Hall, Lincoln Center (formerly Avery Fisher Hall).
Dr. Sue Lane Talley, Dean of the School of Music, is one of several conductors for the April 12 concert. Darryl Jordan, Willana Mack and Stephanie Fisher are other music professors who have conducting roles. Multi-talented student Nikos Kline—a singer, actor and pianist—will be a guest conductor. Dr. Tammy Lum and Prof. Margrit Zimmerman are two professors who will be featured in piano solo performances.
