
NYC Property Owners and Managers and Fire Life Safety Solutions USA 'Get Fired Up for Safety' to Support NYFD Foundation
FLSS USA to donate a portion of Fire Safety programs to benefit the New York City Fire Department
NEW YORK, Feb. 17, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Fire Life Safety Solutions USA, LLC, a New York City-based fire life safety training and consulting company, will donate 3 percent of its net proceeds from its "Get Fired Up for Safety" program to the New York City Fire Department Foundation.
"Get Fired up for Safety" launched its fire safety awareness and donation program in February. Donations to the NYFD Foundation are made after each contract is completed between Fire Life Safety Solutions USA (FLSS) and residential property owners or managers.
"'Get Fired up for Safety'" is a good way for us to give back to the NYC community in a relevant way," said Leslie Troche, a spokesperson for FLSS USA. "Supporting the NYFD Foundation is a natural for us as we continue to raise awareness of the importance of personal fire safety in residential apartment buildings."
It is especially important for multi-unit property owners and managers who need to have a fire safety guide and notice program, as part of the NYC Administrative Fire Codes, Emergency Planning and Preparedness Rules City of New York: section 408-02 "Residential Fire Safety Guides and Notices" part of Local Law 10 of 2009, (formerly rule 3 RCNY section 43-01 Residential Fire Safety Plans and Notices).
According to the most recent statistics, between 2004 and 2006 multiple-fatality fires were responsible for an estimated 825 deaths, 200 injuries and $33 million in fire loss. Multi-family dwellings such as apartment, townhouse, condominium, and tenement properties account for 16 percent of these multiple-fatality fires.
