NEW YORK, Jan. 31, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- On Monday, January 31, 2011, the Obama administration will join prominent entrepreneurs at the White House to announce a series of new commitments to dramatically increase the prevalence and success of American entrepreneurs.
Also on Monday, the US Chamber of Commerce will announce expanding its Free Enterprise campaign for young entrepreneurs and will devote more than $1M in entrepreneurial education from K-12 through post-graduate. As part of this initiative, the Chamber will partner with the Kairos Society, a non-profit network of the best and brightest students from the US and around the world. It will unveil 50 of the most innovative student-run start-up companies at the Kairos Global Summit to be held at the United Nations and New York Stock Exchange February 25 through 27. The upcoming Kairos Summit will bring together 350 student entrepreneurs and the foremost business leaders to discuss solutions to the world's most pressing problems.
According to Ankur Jain, the 20-year old founder of Kairos Society and college senior at Wharton, who is attending the Start-Up America event at the White House:
"We're very excited about Start-Up America and the Chamber's commitment to Kairos. A renewed focus on entrepreneurship and innovation will not only help propel our economy forward, but will also serve to reinvent the American dream for millions of young entrepreneurs. Our country was founded on the principles of free enterprise and these initiatives will revive that spirit of entrepreneurship amongst our next generation of leaders. "
He added, "In the midst of an economic crisis we tend to lose sight of what's important. Today's announcements will refocus our energy to creating jobs, driving innovation and finding solutions to some of the world's greatest challenges including energy, clean water and health care."
