Ocean Bio-Chem, Inc. Says Federal Jury Denies False Advertising Claims

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., March 9, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Ocean Bio-Chem, Inc. (NASDAQ: OBCI) is pleased to announce that in a lawsuit in the Federal Court, Southern District of Florida, a jury has found that Ocean Bio-Chem's subsidiary, Star brite, did not engage in false advertising concerning its flagship product, Star Tron - Enzyme Fuel Treatment.

Peter Dornau, Ocean Bio-Chem President and CEO stated, "We are pleased that in a jury trial, it was determined that our Star Tron advertising could withstand allegations that the claims it was making were false.  After three weeks of intensive testimony by Company personnel and expert witnesses, the jury determined that our fuel treatment meets the claims in our advertising.  The false advertising claim had been brought by a major competitor in the fuel treatment category."
