Houston, TX Based Judge Takes An Active Role in Community, Building Additional Support

HOUSTON, Oct. 23, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Judge Patricia J Kerrigan has experienced a surge of endorsements and renewed favor within the Houston community as a result of several appearances throughout October. On October 16, Judge Kerrigan attended the annual Fall Gala hosted by the Houston Chapter of Tex-ABOTA, an invitation-only organization comprised of the country's finest trial lawyers. Last year Judge Kerrigan served as President of the chapter, and orchestrated a successful restructuring and re-energizing of the Gala. Additionally, she was recently selected to serve on the planning committee of the upcoming 37^th Annual Advanced Civil Trial Course on October 30^th, sponsored by the Texas State Bar. Judge Kerrigan will participate in an expert panel discussing effective courtroom presentation and procedure as part of the three day multi-city seminar. "One of the most important contributions I get to make as a Judge is my service to the community, the people of Harris County, and to the legal profession," explained Kerrigan.

Judge Kerrigan's service and involvement in the courtroom and community has positively impacted her campaign for re-election as presiding judge of the 190^th District Court of Harris County on Nov 4^th. "By giving back to the community, I show my gratitude to the people of Houston for allowing me to serve as Judge," said Kerrigan. Judge Kerrigan has received endorsements from multiple business, community, and legal organizations including the Association of Women Attorneys, the Texas Civil Justice League, the Mexican-American Bar Association – Houston (MABAH), the Jewish Herald Voice, and the Houston Police Officers' Union. A representative for the judge also reported increased backing among Houston attorneys who cited her outstanding results in recent qualification and preference polls. She is also recognized for her successful 24-year career as a trial lawyer, and as an esteemed member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA).

Judge Patricia Kerrigan has performed her duties as the presiding judge of the 190^th District Court of Harris County since 2007. She has served with distinction since taking the bench, outranking her opponents in all subsequent Judicial Preference Polls. Judge Kerrigan was named Best Civil Court Judge in Harris County by the Houston Press in 2011.
