GAITHERSBURG, Md., Oct. 20, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- It's a great time for OfficePro as its owner, Aaron Udler, graduates from the Emerging Leaders Initiative, Class of 2015. "I am excited and honored that I was given this opportunity. I can't wait to make the most of what I've learned in the program," Aaron Udler said. As a program specifically-geared towards business owners poised for potential growth, it is a sure sign of the successes to come for OfficePro. DeVance Walker, chief of Montgomery County's DED Division of Small and Minority Business Empowerment, said regarding the program, "What a great initiative to help aspiring executives of the future develop the skill sets they need to bring their industries and enterprises to the next level."
About Emerging Leaders:
The Emerging Leaders program was developed by Boston University's Institute of Technology, Entrepreneurship & Commercialization in tandem with the Small Business Administration to install a seven-month program in which established small business owners could be aided in the expansion of their business. The program resides in over 40 different communities across the States, utilizing geographically-tailored curriculums for local owners. The initiative works to ensure sustainable growth by working with participants to develop a three year action plan marked with performance goals.
From its creation, Emerging Leaders has experienced great success assisting thousands of small businesses, resulting in the creation of over 1,000 new jobs and attracting investments that amass to approximately $20M in financing. Additionally, "firms reported an average of 40 percent revenue growth. Nearly half of them secured federal, state and local contracts worth a cumulative total of $330 million." These successes are the product of the program's opportunities that include mentorships, networking with other local owners, specialized workshops for the executive level, and introduction to the financial community.
Thus, it is exciting to say that Aaron Udler of OfficePro is one of these graduates. The graduation will take place on October 21st at the Silver Spring Civic Center. To learn more about the program, please visit https://www.sba.gov/about-sba/sba-initiatives/sba-emerging-leaders-initiative.
