Officers and Trustees of New Lahey Health System Board of Trustees Announced

BURLINGTON, Mass., Sept. 18, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Lahey Health System announced today the business and education leaders, legal experts, physicians and entrepreneurs who will form the new Lahey Health System Board of Trustees.

The announcement follows the successful completion of an affiliation agreement between Northeast Health System and Lahey Clinic, which established the Lahey Health System, Inc. on May 1, 2012.

Ann-Ellen Hornidge, JD, will serve as chair of the Lahey Health System Board of Trustees. Hornidge is a partner in the law firm of Mintz Levin where she has served on the firm's governing policy and compensation committees. She has extensive legal and financial experience – providing counsel to a variety of mutual fund companies, investment advisory firms, asset management companies, and other institutional investors. She has particular expertise in financing for health care organizations both locally and nationally.

Linda Moulton, chief executive officer of Ceralta Technologies, Inc., will serve as vice chair of the board. Moulton also serves on the executive committee of the Advanced Manufacturing Collaborative, which was established by Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick in 2011.

Salem State University President Dr. Patricia Meservey has also joined the newly established board. Meservey holds a doctorate in higher education administration and a master of science and a bachelor of science in nursing. She has done extensive research in the areas of nursing, medical education and health policy.

Patrick Ryan, a seasoned entrepreneur and health care leader, will also be serving on the LHS Board. Mr. Ryan is currently chief executive officer of Press Ganey and the former president of Broadlane, a division of MedAssets Inc. Throughout his 30-year career, Ryan has been committed to improving the safety, quality and accessibility of care for patients.

Trustees drawn from both the Lahey Clinic and Northeast Health System include the Honorable Craig R. Benson, former Governor of New Hampshire; Dr. David DiChiara, chief, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Beverly Hospital and a member of Essex County OB/GYN Associates Inc.; Dr. Joseph Corkery, chief institutional advancement officer of Lahey Clinic; Dr. Steven Defossez, president of Northeast Health System's medical staff; Lahey Health System President and Chief Executive Officer, Howard Grant; Tom Grant, general manager of the ThingMagic division of Trimble and the founder and director of the nonprofit Heads Up!; Dr. Roger Jenkins, who currently serves in the Department of Transplantation at Lahey Clinic; Marc Meiches, president and chief executive officer of Electric Insurance Company; and John William Poduska, Sr., the founder and former chief executive officer of Apollo Computer.
