Ohio Association of Child Caring Agencies Becomes Ohio Children's Alliance

COLUMBUS, Ohio, July 2, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- In response to the changing landscape of child and family services, today the Ohio Association of Child Caring Agencies announced it has changed its name to the Ohio Children's Alliance.  This is a historic turning point for Ohio's first and oldest statewide child advocacy organization.

"Our new name is more representative of our mission and the composition of our statewide network of community agencies," said Mark Mecum, CEO, Ohio Children's Alliance.  "Over the past five decades, our association has grown to over 70 community agencies that provide behavioral health, foster care, and other child and family services.  We've also evolved into an alliance that fosters collaboration and innovation.  Our new name symbolizes our commitment to Ohio's children and the agencies that serve them."

Founded in 1973, the Ohio Children's Alliance provides leadership for Ohio's at-risk children, families, and child and family service agencies through advocacy, education, and support.  Their latest initiative is establishment of the Child and Family Health Collaborative, which promotes collaborative opportunities among member agencies to rapidly innovate to improve health and social outcomes of their clients.
