GREENVILLE, Miss., June 1 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Ed Johnson, Chief Executive Officer of The Delta Economic Development Center (www.deltaedc.com) announced today that 2008 Olympic Gold Medalist, Cullen Jones, will stop in Greenville in between appearances for his Make A Splash campaign to instruct over 100 children at the Bobby Henry Memorial Pool on Wednesday, June 2, 2010.

Born in York City, New York and raised in New Brunswick, New Jersey, Cullen nearly drowned as a small child. Now, he is an advocate for water safety and travels the United States promoting and instructing in the importance of swimming and how vital it is to learn life saving skills. He has excelled professionally by placing 5th in 2009 World Champion (50m Freestyle), 2007 World Champion (4x100FR-R), World Record Holder (4x100FR), 2006 Fastest Swimmer in the World (50m Freestyle), World University Games Gold Medalist, Pan Pacific Games Gold Medalist and NCAA Champion. Cullen is only the second African American in history to win an Olympic Gold Medal in swimming.
The Delta Splash Swim Clinic will commence at the Hodding Carter Memorial YMCA at 8:00 a.m. by meeting with the Delta Aquatic Swim Team and continue with a one hour swim clinic at the Bobby Henry Memorial Pool at 10:30 a.m. Central Time.
