The episode, which challenged the teams to write, produce and star in a live cooking demonstration featuring three occasion-specific Omaha Steaks meals and to create an original Omaha Steaks variety package, garnered more than 8.09 million total viewers. In addition, the traffic on the company's website was more than nine times the daily average for the time period and Omaha Steaks was a worldwide trending topic on Twitter for nearly the entire duration of the episode.
In conjunction with the airing of the Omaha Steaks episode, the company hosted a charity red carpet premier party in Omaha, where rock legend and Celebrity Apprentice star Meat Loaf was the guest of honor. Proceeds from the event will benefit Meat Loaf's charity, The Painted Turtle, a camp in Lake Hughes, California, for seriously ill children, and Omaha Performing Arts, an organization that brings artistic performances to the city of Omaha. More than 400 guests attended the event to hear Meat Loaf discuss his involvement in The Celebrity Apprentice series and to watch a live screening of the episode. Thousands of dollars were generated for the charities.
