Onewheel® Launches Android App, Bringing Connected Experience to More Riders

When creating Digital Shaping, Future Motion's engineers took inspiration from the surfing world, where expert surfers shape boards differently to optimize for different riding preferences and conditions. Using the app, riders can use their smartphones to customize ride settings based on their terrain or personal style. Shaping styles include:

• Classic: cruise along with tight, responsive handling and a comfortable speed
• Extreme: unleash the top speed of 16 MPH, with a looser feel more fluid carving feel (like loosening the trucks on a skateboard).
• Elevated: ride with your nose pitched up for steep grades, pump-tracks and also grass or gravel "off-road" terrain.

Onewheel's apps also give riders a deeper look into their activity, allowing them to monitor battery levels as well as track speed and ride distance. The app also lets users toggle LED lights for night riding. Riders with the iOS app and an Apple Watch can access ride data and change Digital Shaping settings -- all from their wrist.

Along with the iOS version, the Android app delivers a connected ride experience that is exclusive to the Onewheel. No other electric transportation device offers such immersive customization of riding experience and feel.

The launch of the Onewheel Android app follows the company's recent announcement that it closed a Series A funding round to expand operations and R&D. Additionally, Onewheel was awarded the prestigious ISPO BRANDNEW 2016 award at ISPO, the world's largest sporting goods show in Munich, Germany.
