Onkos Surgical® expands access to NanoCept® Antibacterial Technology for patients requiring total femoral replacement

PARSIPPANY-TROY HILLS, N.J., Sept. 17, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Onkos Surgical today announced the market release of the ELEOS^TM Total Femoral Adapter with NanoCept® Antibacterial Technology, expanding the availability of NanoCept for patients undergoing one of the most complex and high-risk orthopaedic reconstruction procedures.

Since its introduction in December 2024, NanoCept Antibacterial Technology has been available on ELEOS implant midsections used in complex knee and hip reconstructions. To date, more than 500 patients have received ELEOS implants featuring NanoCept.

The launch of the ELEOS Total Femoral Adapter with NanoCept further expands the portfolio to support patients requiring complete femoral replacement.

The ELEOS Total Femoral Adapter with NanoCept is the first product to be produced and coated at Onkos Surgical's newly opened NanoCept Innovation Center in Bridgewater, New Jersey, marking an important milestone in the company's efforts to expand access to NanoCept across the broader ELEOS product portfolio.

About NanoCept®

Onkos received De Novo market authorization from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in April of 2024 for its NanoCept Antibacterial Technology for use with the ELEOS™ Limb Salvage System. Pre-clinical testing showed that NanoCept Antibacterial Technology has up to a 99.999% (5-log reduction) kill rate of bacteria that are commonly found in the operating room environment.

The device coating is not intended for the treatment of existing infections or prevention of future infections in patients. The clinical impact of bacterial reduction from the NanoCept coating, including prevention of infection or reduction of infection risk in patients, has not been evaluated in human clinical studies.
