Online Retailer Tokyo Laundry Announces Amount Raised for Charity Run

Grand total raised for charity run is finally announced by fast fashion retailer Tokyo Laundry. 

The team at Tokyo Laundry relocated to new premises earlier this year, where all staff members were offered free membership at local gym Total Fitness. As a result, the team pledged to give something back, and opted to run the Bupa Great Manchester Run with proceeds being donated to the runners' selected charities.

Among the chosen charities were NSPCC, Royal Manchester Children's Hospital and Francis House - all of whom expressed their gratitude to the e-tailer for its generosity.

The charity run took place on Sunday 18 May, giving the team a mere few months to train and prepare. After much anticipation, Tokyo Laundry has now announced the final amount which has been raised as part of this charity initiative.

With an impressive grand total of £85,288.14, the team easily smashed their intended amount, which was hoped to total £50,000 - meaning that each of the chosen charities benefitted hugely.

In a presentation ceremony held this week at the Tokyo Laundry headquarters, the representatives of three of the charities were presented with their cheque.

Sachin Passi, Director, said: "We enjoyed (almost) every minute of the Bupa Great Manchester 10k Run and found it really rewarding to give something back to those less fortunate.

"In fact we had so much fun that we're eagerly awaiting next year's race where we intend to beat this year's grand total.
