Online Video Production and Management Company Diagonal View to Reach $5m Revenue in 2014
Company behind viral Net-A-Porter "World's Greatest CEO" video turns profitable and releases growth figures
LONDON, November 13, 2014 /PRNewswire/ --
Diagonal View (http://www.diagonal-view.com), the company that created the Net-a-Porter "World's Greatest CEO" hit video, is releasing growth figures for the first time, with revenue expected to reach $5M in 2014. Founded six years ago, Diagonal View manages high-trafficked channels for clients such as Sony Music, Comedy Central and CBS. Meanwhile, its own YouTube Channel AllTime10s has more weekly views in the United States than many top-rated cable television shows. Started by CEO Matt Heiman, in partnership with ITN Source, the London-based company has grown from just two employees to 35.
The company, which is now fully profitable, has more than doubled its customer base with syndication partners beyond YouTube. Most recently, Diagonal View signed syndication deals with The Outplay and Vidible. The business is set to expand into India and China in early 2015, solidifying its position as a global leader in the online video space.
Diagonal View's own YouTube channels have attracted more than 1 billion views so far:
- AllTime10s is dedicated to surprising facts on a range of topics and regularly features celebrities such as Megan Fox, Simon Pegg and Jamie Oliver. The YouTube channel recently surpassed 700 million views and over 2.8 million subscribers.
- Football Daily is the largest independent football channel with more than 100 million views since launching in 2012 - higher than the Chelsea FC, FIFA, Fox Sports and La Liga channels. Recent CPMs for Football Daily are nearly £30, demonstrating its advertising value.
"Since 2008, we have been working diligently to establish ourselves as one of the world's leading digital producers. With our insight into what drives audiences and establishes communities, we develop highly compelling content for our clients and our own channels. The model is delivering: we were thrilled to see that AllTime10s has more weekly views in the United States than top-rated cable television shows," said Diagonal View CEO Matt Heiman. "We have invested considerable resource alongside the growing web and video market to create a leading portfolio of channels with higher production values, which regularly feature some of the biggest celebrities and YouTube stars."
Diagonal View has continued to contribute to the success and growth of YouTube channels for clients including Sony Music, The IOC, Comedy Central, Perform Group, CBS and Net-a-Porter Group. Current projects include the upcoming launch of a YouTube channel for The Beano as well as NOW That's What I Call Music.
Natalie Massent, founder of Net-a-Porter said: "We've worked with Diagonal View on multiple projects and the team never fails to deliver video content that is both engaging and showcases the essence of our brand. When our team was looking to give [former CEO] Mark Sebba a sendoff he wouldn't forget, we knew that Diagonal View would be the right partner to deliver the results we needed. Complete with a choir singer, samba dancers, acrobats and a mariachi band, the video not only showed Mark how much he means to us, but to the millions who watched it around the world."
