Dana Point's first craft beer festival to benefit Ocean Institute
DANA POINT, Calif., Oct. 3, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Taste of Brews is heading to Lantern Bay Park in Dana Point on Saturday, October 15, 2011 for an Oktoberfest-themed festival featuring dozens of seasonal, craft and micro-brews paired alongside cuisine from fabulous eateries. Taste of Brews admission includes craft beer tastes, free food samples (while supplies last), plenty of drinking water and live entertainment. For more information or to purchase tickets, please visit www.tasteofbrews.com.
Taste of Brews features many popular craft beers like Stone, Shock Top, Blue Moon, Newcastle, Karl Strauss, Sam Adams and Pyramid, while Stella Artois is showcased in the VIP lounge. Orange County is well represented with Left Coast (San Clemente), Noble Ale Works (Anaheim), Cismontane (Rancho Santa Margarita) and Bayhawk Ales (Irvine). Harder to locate brands Honey Brown, Packinghouse, Sudwerk and Chai Cream Ale infuse fresh energy. International participants include Becks, Leavenworth Biers and Lammsbrau (Germany), Peroni (Italy) and Xingu (Brazil).
A refreshingly classy approach to beer tasting, Taste of Brews pays homage to the passion and excitement that today's full-flavored craft beers are generating among consumers while providing an exciting platform to introduce new styles. Among the emerging brands utilizing Taste of Brews to muscle into an already crowded craft beer marketplace are Great Head (Laguna Niguel) and Hugo Dounonme (Los Angeles).
"Events like Taste of Brews are critical for generating awareness and buzz for our brand," said Great Head's Josh Thiel. "They also give the community an opportunity to experience an array of top-notch locally brewed beers that this region has gained notoriety for. The location is amazing and we can't wait to sample our Black Dahlia India Black Ale, along with our Guero Raspberry Wit-bier - infused with something special just for this fest."
Pairing food with beer, several south county eateries are sampling cuisine including House of Big Fish (Laguna Beach), Luxe (Dana Point), Inka Mamas (San Clemente) Sunsets (Capistrano Beach) and Swensen's Ice Cream (Mission Viejo). Complete meals will be available for an additional fee.
Lantern Bay Park, a spectacular location overlooking Dana Point Harbor, will be transformed into a fall festival featuring an Oom Pah band, German beers and the colors and flavors of autumn. General admission attendees will sample among dozens of brands. Premium VIP packages take the tasting experience to a heightened level with early entry, private reserves, a "Belgian-themed" lounge area and other upscale amenities. All guests will be treated to live musical entertainment.
Taste of Brews' official non-profit beneficiary is Dana Point's famed Ocean Institute. The mission of the Ocean Institute is to inspire all generations, through education, to become responsible stewards of our oceans. More information is available at www.ocean-institute.org.
