Open Security Foundation & SECore Host Security Media Training at RSA Conference 2012

SAN FRANCISCO, Feb. 13, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- SECore.info, an online resource for information on security events, experts and journalists, operated by the Open Security Foundation, creators of the Open Source Vulnerability Database (OSVDB) and the DataLossDB.org, announced today that it will host a series of media training workshops for information security professionals during RSA Conference 2012 in San Francisco.

"Information security is an industry that truly advances on the shared expertise of the entire community, but many security professionals struggle to find effective ways to promote and share their research outside of their own organization," said Marisa Fagan, co-founder of BayThreat and SECore project owner. Administered by LEWIS Pulse, a top-25 PR and social media firm with deep industry expertise in information security, the hour-long media training workshops will provide personalized instruction on how to construct and deliver an effective story to the greater security community, ideas and best practices for promoting security-related research as well as the fundamentals for communicating with members of the press.
