"I'm grateful to Cinespace, the soundstage where we shoot Chicago PD, for sponsoring this year's event and to the generosity of the actors and all those who have donated to the event," says Frontain. "We were able to provide so many needed scholarships and create compelling PSAs with the funds raised from last year's event. I can't wait to continue our momentum that will be made possible through our fundraising."
Frontain created the organization in memory of her son, Patrick Boswell, who tragically lost his life to gun violence in Rosemont, Illinois in January 2015. Patrick was a 14-year old boy walking in the wrong place at the wrong time in a neighboring town, and was caught in the middle of gang crossfire. The event will take place in September around what would have been Patrick's 17th birthday.
