Optimal IdM Announces The Virtual Identity Server As An Application Programming Interface (API)

LAND O'LAKES, Fla., June 4, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Optimal IdM, LLC, a Microsoft Gold Certified partner, today announced the availability of its Virtual Identity Server .NET LDAP virtual directory (VIS) as an application programming interface (A.P.I.).  This embeds all of the capabilities of the VIS virtual directory into an easy to use feature rich A.P.I. 

Application developers and software vendors can use this .NET based A.P.I. to develop their applications, utilizing all of the features that VIS provides.  This allows any application using the A.P.I. to access any VIS features such as multi-forest support, dynamic groups and connection pooling/failover.  The A.P.I. increases performance of the application, reduces network traffic, and the amount of hardware that needs to be deployed. The A.P.I. provides an easy to use collection of methods and properties that allows the developer to perform operations such as authenticating a user, or performing an account look up without having to do LDAP programming.  Additionally the A.P.I. has been wrapped into PowerShell commandlets that allows administrators to use the familiar PowerShell interface to access the same A.P.I.
