Oregon Health Authority Selects CDI Infrastructure Subsidiary - L.R. Kimball - and SAIC to Conduct Security Analysis and Prepare Security Plan for Health Insurance Exchange Project

PHILADELPHIA, Sept. 7, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- CDI Corporation today announced that its Engineering Solutions Infrastructure subsidiary, L.R. Kimball, has been selected by the Oregon Health Authority (OHA) to conduct cyber security analysis and prepare a security plan for their Health Insurance Exchange project.  These services will be provided along with L.R. Kimball's subcontractor, Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC).

The OHA, as part of its ongoing effort to transform Oregon's health system for better health, better care and lower costs, is working with the Oregon Health Insurance Exchange Corporation and Oregon Department of Human Services to develop the technology for a Health Insurance Exchange (HIX) that will create a modular, reusable IT solution. The robust and agile IT infrastructure will reflect and support the business needs and policy goals of the federal-state partnership as embodied in the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010.

As industry leaders in the field of cyber security, L.R. Kimball and SAIC have a long track record of working successfully with federal, state and local agencies in Oregon and across the country.  To support the development of the Oregon HIX, they will conduct an information security analysis and develop a security plan that takes into account the following elements:

• System threats and vulnerabilities
• Current system security controls and their resulting risk levels, and
• Recommended safeguards to reduce the system's risk exposure
