Original Travel Show "On the Road with Jo" Uncovers 101 Miles of Behind the Scenes Travel along the California Highway 1 Discovery Route
SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif., Feb. 19, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- A new network quality professionally hosted travel show called On the Road With Jo is coming to a lodging property and YouTube channel near you this spring. The California Highway 1 Discovery Route is pleased to announce the launch of a travel show focusing on uncovering the best things to do and places to go along the 101 mile California Highway 1 Discovery Route located midway between Los Angeles and San Francisco. Cayucos CA resident Jo Wemple, a TV personality, travel enthusiast, adventure seeker, wine and culinary explorer, takes viewers on wild adventures like hummer rides at the Oceano dunes, or flying high in a bi-plane, as well as on behind the scenes wine tasting trips, culinary travels and historic tours, including Stewardship Travel activities.

"The show really brings this region to life as we cover so many unique and interesting travel topics along the way," said Wemple. "There are so many activities packed into 101 miles of the California Highway 1 Discovery Route, it's going to be hard to capture it all. But, we are trying!"
The show concept was developed by the destination's core-marketing firms Mental Marketing and TJA Advertising as a way to show a dynamic local perspective throughout Coastal San Luis Obispo County. They hired celebrity producer, director, writer and actor Kerrigan Mahan to direct the show. A third generation Hollywood native, he has written and produced for both stage and screen and performed in such films as MacArthur, Dr. Doolittle, The Santa Clause and hundreds of television shows. Mr. Mahan paired his masterful talent with the award winning producer and cinematographer Robert Solari in association with Zillion Media. Veteran composer Tomas Hradcky was chosen to set the mood through original opening theme music.
The Future of On the Road with Jo
Four 20-minute episodes will be available by April of 2015 on YouTube, with episodes 2 - 4 covering a variety of topics throughout the 10 destinations found along the route including San Simeon & Ragged Point, Cambria, Cayucos, Los Osos/Baywood Park, Avila Beach & Valley, Edna Valley, Arroyo Grande Valley, Oceano and Nipomo. In addition, short vignettes will be launched on the California Highway 1 Discovery Route's YouTube Channel by the end of April. And beginning in July of 2015, new episodes are slated to be publicized monthly. Distribution plans also include multiple strategic tourism partner websites, lodging in-room media throughout regional CA destinations, and network opportunities.
