OASC is one of six ambulatory surgery centers in Connecticut recognized by Newsweek. Nationwide, 750 ambulatory surgery centers were recognized, including 61 centers with orthopedics identified as a standout specialty.

OASC was developed in 2004 by Orthopedic Associates of Hartford and Constitution Surgery Alliance (CSA), a leading developer and operator of outpatient surgery centers, as the region's first physician-owned orthopedic surgery center. The Newsweek recognition adds to OASC's record of national recognition for quality and patient safety. OASC has also been named a Top Ambulatory Surgery Center by The Leapfrog Group for three consecutive years, in 2023, 2024 and 2025.
