NEW YORK, Jan. 26, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- OTC Markets Group Inc. (OTCQX: OTCM), operator of financial markets for 10,000 U.S. and global securities, today announced the fourth quarter 2015 performance and quarterly rebalancing of the OTCQX® indexes, the OTCQB® Venture Index, the OTCM QX ADR Index ("OTCQX30") and the OTCM ADR Index.
The OTCQX Composite Index (.OTCQX), which tracks the overall OTCQX Best Market, gained 4.5% in the fourth quarter, compared to an 11.6% decline in the prior quarter. The Index was up 3.9% for the full year 2015. Forty-seven companies were added to the Index in the quarter, including Australia's Alumina Limited (OTCQX: AWCMY). Thirty-two companies were removed from the Index, including three companies that graduated from OTCQX to an exchange listing during the quarter: Anavex Life Sciences Corp., Klondex Mines Ltd. and Xtant Medical Holdings, Inc.
The OTCQX Billion+ Index (.OTCQXBIL), which tracks the performance of OTCQX companies with a market capitalization of $1 billion or greater, was up 4.6% in the fourth quarter, compared to an 11.6% decline in the third quarter. The Index was up 1.8% since its launch in the second quarter 2015. Seven companies were added to the Index in the quarter and five companies were removed.
The OTCQX Banks Index (.OTCQXBK), comprised of community and regional banks traded on OTCQX, rose 6.4% in the fourth quarter, compared to a 1.0% gain in the prior quarter. The Index was up 16.1% since launching in the first quarter 2015. Nine companies were added to the Index in the quarter: Athens Bancshares Corp. (OTCQX: AFCB), Blackhawk Bancorp, Inc. (OTCQX: BHWB), Calvin B. Taylor Bankshares, Inc. (OTCQX: TYCB), Commercial Bancshares, Inc. (OTCQX: CMOH), Community Bank of Santa Maria (CA) (OTCQX: CYSM), First West Virginia Bancorp, Inc. (OTCQX: FWVB), Independent Alliance Banks, Inc. (OTCQX: IALB), OCB Bancorp (CA) (OTCQX: OJCB) and Sturgis Bancorp, Inc. (OTCQX: STBI). Five companies were removed.
The OTCQX International Index (.OTCQXINT), a benchmark for OTCQX international companies, rose 4.5% in the fourth quarter, compared to an 11.6% decline in the prior quarter. The Index was up 3.8% for the full year 2015. Twenty-eight companies were added to the Index in the quarter and 23 companies were removed, including Klondex Mines, which graduated from OTCQX to the NYSE MKT on October 7, 2015.
The OTCQX U.S. Index (.OTCQXUS), comprised of U.S.-based OTCQX companies, gained 9.8% in the fourth quarter and was up 20.2% for the full year 2015. Twenty companies were added to the Index in the quarter and 10 companies were removed, including Anavex Life Sciences and Xtant Medical Holdings, which both graduated from OTCQX to an exchange.
The OTCQB Venture Index (.OTCQB), which tracks the overall OTCQB Venture Market, declined 7.0% in the fourth quarter and was down 26.8% since its launch in the first quarter 2015. Ninety-two companies were added to the Index in the quarter and 134 companies were removed, including the following five companies that graduated to an exchange listing or were acquired during the quarter: Alexandria Real Estate Equities, Inc., COPsync, Inc., InSite Vision, Inc., Titan Pharmaceuticals, Inc. and Trinity Place Holdings Inc.
The OTCM QX ADR 30 Index (.OTCQX30), powered by BNY Mellon DR IndicesSM and comprised of the 30 largest, most actively-traded OTCQX American Depositary Receipts (ADRs), gained 4.89% in the fourth quarter compared to a 9.95% decline in the third quarter. The Index was flat for the year. There were no constituent changes to the Index in the quarter.
The OTCM ADR Index (.OTCDR) powered by BNY Mellon DR Indices and comprised of ADRs traded on the OTCQX, OTCQB and Pink Markets, rose 4.72% during the fourth quarter compared to an 11.95% decline in the prior quarter. The Index was down 1.06% for the full year 2015. Thirteen companies were added to the Index in the quarter and 16 were removed.

All indexes are market capitalization-weighted and are adjusted on a quarterly basis for additions and shares changes over 5% during the months of March, June, September and December. In the case of ADRs, the DR ratio is considered. Dividends are re-invested as of the close of business the day before the ex-dividend date.
