OTC Markets Group Unveils Quantitative Morningstar Equity Ratings and Equity Research Reports for OTCQX and OTCQB Companies
NEW YORK, May 9, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- OTC Markets Group Inc. (OTCQX: OTCM), operator of financial markets for 10,000 U.S. and global securities, has entered into an agreement with Morningstar, Inc. (NASDAQ: MORN), a leading provider of independent investment research, to provide quantitative Morningstar equity ratings and equity research reports to OTCQX® and OTCQB® companies and their investors.
As part of the agreement, Morningstar's quantitative equity ratings for OTCQX and OTCQB companies will be displayed on a company's quote page on www.otcmarkets.com, providing investors with Morningstar's estimates of the stock's fair market value. A 5-star rating represents a stock that Morningstar rates as a good value at its current price and is undervalued compared with estimates of its fair value. Conversely, a 1-star rating represents a stock that Morningstar rates as overvalued compared with estimates of its fair value. Morningstar updates ratings daily to reflect changes in its estimates of a stock's fair value, changes in the company's stock price, or both.
In addition, OTCQX companies and subscribing OTCQB companies will receive Morningstar Quantitative Equity Research Reports via www.otcmarkets.com, updated daily and available for download and distribution to investors. These reports provide a forward-looking quantitative assessment of a company's stock based on Morningstar's five quantitative equity ratings and a comparison with aggregate ratings of other companies in the sector and country to give investors an effective context for making decisions. Reports will be available for free to OTCQX companies and for a small annual fee to OTCQB companies.
