Outdoor Channel Reveals the Nominees for the 11th Annual Golden Moose Awards

TEMECULA, Calif., Jan. 12, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Outdoor Channel (Nasdaq: OUTD), America's leader in Outdoor TV, today unveiled the slate of nominees for its 11th Annual Golden Moose Awards, the most popular and longstanding outdoor television awards ceremony in the country. Held on January 20, 2011 at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Las Vegas during the SHOT Show, the Golden Moose Awards honor the producers and on-air talent from Outdoor Channel's industry-leading programming.

This year's Golden Moose Awards will be hosted by Willie Robertson of Outdoor Channel's "Buck Commander Protected by Under Armour" and "Benelli Presents Duck Commander" and winner of several Golden Moose Awards. The highly anticipated awards extravaganza will also feature an exclusive performance from country music star, Blake Shelton, an avid outdoorsman who makes regular guest appearances on various Outdoor Channel programs.

"Recognizing our high-quality programming, first-class production teams and celebrity talent, the Golden Moose Awards allows outdoor fans to pay tribute to those who have made Outdoor Channel the leader in the outdoor entertainment industry," said Tom Hornish, COO at Outdoor Channel. Several of the highly coveted "Fan Favorite" accolades will also be awarded at the event. Determined by almost 70,000 online votes -- a 125 percent increase over last year -- viewers had the opportunity to choose from categories such as Best Host, Best Fishing Series, Best Hunting Series, Best New Series and Best Overall.

Outdoor Channel promotes the spirit of conservation in all its programs, emphasizing responsible hunting, fishing and habitat maintenance. In conjunction with the Golden Moose Awards, Budweiser, sponsor of the premier event, and the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation will announce the 2011 Conservationist of the Year. Budweiser will donate $50,000 to fund the efforts of the winning conservationist and grant $5,000 to the three runner-ups. The nominees this year are Ron Bergeron of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; Jared Brown of Clearwater, Florida; Joe Hamilton of Walterboro, South Carolina; and Jacob Sands of Dallas, Texas.
