Outdoor Channel Takes Steps To Protect Its Trademarks

Temecula, Calif., Jan. 20 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Outdoor Channel Holdings, Inc. (Nasdaq: OUTD), America's leader in Outdoor TV, today announced that The Outdoor Channel, Inc. ("Outdoor Channel") has filed a trademark infringement lawsuit in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Oklahoma against In Country Television Inc. ("In Country"), its owner and operator Performance One Media LLC and Robert J. Sigg. According to the complaint, styled The Outdoor Channel, Inc. v. In Country Television, Inc., Performance One Media, LLC and Robert J. Sigg, Case No. 10-CV-30-JHP-PJC, Outdoor Channel alleges Defendants knowingly, willingly and unlawfully infringed or contributed to the infringement of the federally registered marks of Outdoor Channel which it owns or is licensed to use, including: The Outdoor Channel™, Outdoor Channel™, Bring the Outdoors Home™, and The Wingshooter™. Outdoor Channel also alleges the actions of In Country constitute violations of Section 43(a) of the Lanham Act, 15 U.S.C. Section 1125(a) and infringement of Outdoor Channel's trade dress. Outdoor Channel is seeking damages, attorney's fees, as well as a permanent injunction barring In Country from the infringing acts.
