Overstock.com has created a special O.co Coliseum home game feature dedicated to Wounded Warrior ProjectTM (WWP), a non-profit organization whose mission is to honor and empower Wounded Warriors. Two Wounded Warriors will be honored at every home game on the field and spotlighted on the Raiders' video board. For each home game, two different military heroes will be given a ticket for themselves and a guest by Overstock.com.
"We are delighted that Overstock.com is returning as a Raiders sponsor and we are honored to work with Overstock.com to support WWP," said Raiders Chief Executive Amy Trask.
Additionally, in the Overstock.com Kickoff Challenge, a randomly selected fan will receive a $5,000 gift card to Overstock.com if the Raiders return the opening kickoff (whether it's in the first or second half) for a touchdown. In the event that the Raiders don't return the kickoff for a touchdown, the eligible fan will receive a $50 Overstock.com gift card as a thank you gift for participating. This in-game contest will be held during each of the Raiders' eight home games.
"Oakland Raiders fans are some of the most passionate in the NFL, and we like passionate people," said Overstock.com CEO, Patrick M. Byrne. "These promotions will reinforce Overstock.com's already strong presence among Oakland fans."
In April 2011, Overstock.com announced a six-year deal, in partnership with the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum Authority that included naming rights to the home of the Oakland Raiders and Major League Baseball's Oakland Athletics.
